Producer Story:
Nyakizu Mountain Coffee is a family-owned Rwandan coffee wet
processing company, founded in 2012 by KAZUNGU Charles, who 10
years earlier was trading semi washed coffee. It is located in
Nyaruguru district, his native land. Nyakizu farmers are 3,687 and
grows 100% Arabica Red Bourbon coffee and produce specialty Fully
washed and Natural.
Nyakizu Mountain Coffee Farm lies deep in the south of Rwanda near
the border with Burundi. The famous mountain of Nyakizu where
coffee trees are grown has high altitude ranging between 1,700 and
2,100 meter above sea level; the region has suitable soil and a
favorable climate responsible for its exceptional quality.
Along with daily assistance to our farmers, our agronomists
provide yearly trainings on good agriculture practices and farm
visit to ensure both higher quality and production in terms of
coffee cherries.
Nyakizu farmers, two-time winners of the international competition
in Rwanda in the past decades, have set an example to be followed
in the care, attention and preparation of coffee and the land. This
has also established them as one of the faces associated with
quality coffee in Rwanda, backed by their consistent performance in
the competitions over the years.
